#About
Raised in Banff, Colemen has been a longtime resident of the Bow Valley. Usually spending his days rock climbing, skiing, or mountain biking, he is always able to find solace in the outdoors. As most things in his life usually begin, Colemen first found himself on a yoga mat as a joke when he was hungover in Belize. Enthralled by the challenge of yoga and its ability to provoke self study, he began to dive deep into the practice and kept up with it on return from his travels. Now years later into his practice Colemen has fully transitioned into the world of yoga, completing his teacher training and opening up his own yoga studio “Flow State” here in Banff. Colemen believes that yoga is the perfect counterbalance to the physically demanding lifestyle of Banff’s mountain and outdoor culture. He believes that the phrase "I'm not flexible enough to do yoga" is nonsense, and is ready to dismantle that thought. His aim is to bring the practice of yoga to a more diverse group of people who may have been previously afraid to step onto a yoga mat.
#5QuickQuestions
1) Where does the passion for yoga come from? Physically I have never felt better since beginning a consistent yoga practice and mentally yoga has this ability to ground me and give me the space I need to better process my thoughts. 2) Where can people find you if you’re not busy teaching? Climbing, biking, paddle boarding or having a beer at Banff Ave Brewing co. 3) Do you have a style you most enjoy teaching? At first I was totally drawn to teaching power yoga classes and rocket yoga, so much more fast paced and challenging yoga but overtime I have also really grown to love teaching a slower more mellow flow class where we can really take the time to focus on breath. 4) What inspires you? I feel like I have a very diverse group of people close to me and I find different inspiration from each of them and their differing perspectives in life. 5) Where is your favourite place to practice alone? In my studio. There are no distractions and it is very surreal to practice in this space that I built, it adds a different personal element to my practice.

Plans for the future? I don’t really know where I will be years down the road, as the name of my studio suggests I like to go with the flow and see where I end up, but definitely see myself chasing more certifications and seeing how far I can take the studio!
