Oakley was started in 1975 by Jim Jannard with $300 in hard cash and a great idea: make products that work and look better than anything else out there. Jim's first invention was a motorcycle handgrip with a unique tread and shape to fit the rider's closed hand. Jim's next creation was the O Frame goggle with a lens curved in a perfect arc; he then "reinvented" sunglasses for sports. When Greg LeMond, 3-time winner of the Tour de France, began wearing Oakleys, Oakley knew it was on the right track. Today, Oakley continues to hold the mark of excellence and is known as a solution finder for those who refuse to compromise on performance. Oakley: Physics elevated to an art form.
